Happy Halloween!!! Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Between Cass' work party and the ward trunk-or-treat I think the girls were already sugared out by the time Halloween night finally came. They manged to muster up the energy to go and collect even more candy. Sofi's lips are stained blue from a ring pop she had earlier. We really had a fun day.

Cass makes a great Napoleon Dynamite. He even has the dance skills.

The trunk-or-treat at the church.

My little princess!

Grace and Sofi both helped me bake the pies this year. Grace helped with the pumpkin pie and Sofia helped with the banana cream pie. They both turned out delicious. These girls are definitely naturals.

Grace likes her dark meat!
This was my first attempt at cooking a turkey. I think it turned out beautifully. It tasted really good too. The whole time while it was cooking I kept thinking about the part in National Lampoons Christmas Vacation where the turkey bursts open and shrivels up because it was so dry. I am very thankful that did not happen. We had a really nice dinner.

A Beautiful New England Fall. . .

Enjoying the beauty and fun of Fall!

Joseph Smith Memorial Monument

The face of this statue was molded from the actual death mask of Joseph Smith.

The road driving up to the visitors center

Last Saturday we took a day trip and drove to Vermont. Our friend, Dan that we know from Salt Lake is from Vermont and we had heard how beautiful it is there. Also, in Sharon, Vermont, there is a visitors center near the home of where Joseph Smith was born.
We began in Rhode Island where the leaves are beginning to change. You could see patches of reds, yellows, and oranges here and there amongst the greens. As we drove north the trees became more dense and the range of colors more unbelievable! It is just amazing and awe-inspiring to see such beautiful creations. We had a great day!

Gorgeous Girls!

Happy Birthdays!!

The girls are growing up so fast!!! They both had their birthdays in the past few weeks! Sofi wanted a flower cake and Grace chose to have cupcakes and share them with all her neighborhood friends. She just had to sit on her bike while we all sang to her. Her bike has become a part of her since she learned to ride without training wheels not too long ago.

Newport Half-Marathon Here We Come!!

Cassidy and I have been training for our first half-marathon, which will be in a couple of weeks! We are very excited! We've had a great time being able to train together. For most of our training we have had the girls with us in the double jogger stroller. They like the ride. Sofi is always telling us to go faster and Grace wants to race all the time. It really hasn't been too bad and I can't complain when we have such a beautiful places to run. Our favorite place to run especially with the jogger stroller is an old railroad track converted into a bike path. Its about 14 miles long and it runs right along the water and weaves through a couple small towns. Its awesome! The actual course for the race is going to be beautiful! We will start in downtown Newport and run along the coast and then past all the old mansions of Newport. I'm so excited!. . . . and scared!!!
The last time we went running I took some pictures of the awesome scenery.

Summer Fun!!

We have a favorite park that we like to drive to that is right by the water. It is so fun to see all the amazing kites that are flying in the sky and to watch the many sailboats that pass by out on the water.

Here are the girls having fun at the beach.

Summer Fun!

This summer has been very busy and rainy here in Rhode Island. Despite all the craziness we have manged to have some fun.

This is our blog!!!

We are finally realizing how far away we are from all of our family and friends. It has been 3 years since we moved from Utah. From the moment we left, we have had so many fun and amazing adventures. I wish that we had been sharing them with you this whole time. Since 2006 we have had the opportunity to live in the San Fransisco Bay area and currently we are living in the New England area (from the west coast to the east coast). We've been having a blast! Now we can share all that we experience with all of you. And hopefully it will give us the chance to keep in touch with each other. We may be very far away but know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers often.
We hope you enjoy our adventure!!
